Triumph of the Yuppies Is Out Today!
It's an Amazon Editors' Pick and a No. 1 new release. Read an excerpt — and check out the terrific reviews.
Folks,
Today marks the official release of my new book, Triumph of the Yuppies: America, the Eighties, and the Creation of an Unequal Nation. I’m excited to share that it’s an Amazon Editors’ Pick for June and a No. 1 new release.
The book is the first-ever history of 1980s young urban professionals, chronicling the rise and impact of an influential cohort of well-educated Baby Boomers. More broadly, it’s a cultural history of the decade that formed the world we live in today, from politics and pop culture to business and the economy.
Honestly, I’ve been blown away by the amazing reaction the book has gotten so far. In just the last few days the Boston Globe, New York Times, Politico, New York Post and several other media outlets have highlighted the book and showered it with praise. I’m deeply grateful.
And I’d be appreciative if you could keep the momentum going. Please spread the word on your social channels, talk it up at your neighborhood cookout, or buy it for your favorite dad (even if that’s you!) for Father’s Day.
And if you have a podcast or book club, let me know: I’d be happy to come and chat about the book.
Below are highlights of the coverage so far, as well as excerpts from the book if you want to read a sample for yourself. Many thanks!
